On June 17, 2021 the Toronto Police Service issued the following statement:

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest made in a hate-motivated mischief investigation.

On Thursday, May 6, 2021 at approximately 10 p.m., in the Kensington Avenue and Baldwin Street area.

It is alleged:

– a man used spray paint to write anti-Semitic graffiti on the windows of a business

– the business is owned by a member of the Jewish community

After consultation with the Service’s specialized Hate Crime Unit, the investigation is being treated as hate motivated.

On Wednesday, June 16, 2021, investigators located and arrested Selvin Campos-Acosta, 29, of no fixed address. He is charged with:

1. Mischief under $5000

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Thursday, June 17, 2021, in room 101.

This remains an active investigation. Police are appealing to the public to come forward and advise police if there are further incidents or victims.
