Palestinian writer Khaled Barakat, coordinator of the Campaign to Free Ahmad Sa’adat, speaks to the شبكة صامدون- اليونان // Samidoun network-Greece event commemorating the 52nd anniversary of the Palestinian revolutionary left, the founding of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Here is an excerpt from Khaled Barakat’s speech:
It is really important to be to look at what’s happening in Gaza and see that the people under a very severe economic, political and military conditions, they are able to fight back and they are able to be unified. We have a unified front, and Gaza, all Palestinian resistance factions [Hamas, Islamic Jihad, PFLP among others] are working together and they are also achieving important political gains. They have put Gaza and the Palestinian question in the forefront of the political agenda, on the national agenda and the Arab agenda. Despite that we still have a long way to go in order to continue the liberation of Gaza, because Gaza today is not exactly liberated, there are so many tasks to carry in order for our people to make sure that Gaza is liberated fully and that Israel can not invade our space and can not invade our land, and can not use their war planes and they can not enforce our people in Gaza to submission. And the way to do that is to support the Palestinian resistance in Gaza by all means, and to support the struggle of our people in Gaza in a political and popular methods in the forefront.
