On July 18, 2017 Toronto Students for Justice in Palestine (TSJP) posted an open letter to the “Zionists”:
“#DearZionists
“How can you possibly claim to be protecting yourselves against the indigenous when you are the invaders colonizing a land illegally… brutally? How can you possibly claim self-defense? I swear it’s the other way around. People trying to defend their land against invaders is not terrorism. People colonizing a land by killing its people, claiming it as their own with blatant disregard to its inhabitants… THAT is terrorism.
“We’re the ones protecting ourselves against Zionists… who bomb us, bomb our children, bomb our families. When the war happened 3 summers ago, were the Israelis really protecting themselves against those helpless, defenseless civilians in Gaza who were only trying to get by?
“Are Israelis that cowardly? Are Israelis that afraid of Palestinians, that they have to resort to killing children and innocent civilians?”
TSJP’s post includes a poster that reads:
“If you invade another country, you’re not defending your country, you’re attacking people who are defending their country. MuslimsAreNotTerrorists.com”
In previous posts JSJP maintained that the Nakba, meaning the establishment of the State of Israel, was a “crime against humanity.”
