Nasim Asgari (نَسيم عَسگَري) is a 21 year-old Iranian-Canadian who studies human rights and equity studies at York University in Toronto. She was a speaker at Al-Quds Day rally in Toronto (June 1, 2019) and her poetry was promoted by CBC.
On May 15, 2019 Nasim Asgari retweeted and liked Zahra Shafei’s tweet that features Leila Khaled in her twenties standing in front of a map of Palestine while bearing a dagger in her right hand and a semi-automatic rifle is strapped over her shoulder. Leila Khaled is a member of the political bureau of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a Canadian-designated terrorist organization. In 1969 and 1970 she took part in hijacking commercial airplanes.
The tweet reads: “From the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea,” meaning Palestine will be free by the armed struggle. The map, the statement and the weapons suggest that the State of Israel is an occupied Palestinian territory that has to be liberated by force.
