On October 7, 2023, Nazih Khatatba shared a statement from Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau regarding the Hamas-led attack on Israel, known as the Al-Aqsa Flood:
Canada strongly condemns the current terrorist attacks against Israel. These acts of violence are completely unacceptable. We stand with Israel and fully support its right to defend itself. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by this. Civilian life must be protected.
In response to Trudeau’s post, Nazih Khatatba stated (originally in Arabic):
Canada’s Prime Minister, condemns the Palestinian attack, describes it as terrorist, and expresses his solidarity with the occupying entity and its right to defend itself. Allah willing, your days are numbered just like their entity. I wish I could hear him condemn the crimes of the occupation one day. As a Canadian citizen, I declare my solidarity with the Palestinian resistance and the Palestinian people’s right to defend themselves and liberate their land by all means.
