Al-Quds Day rally in Toronto (March 14, 2026)

The Al-Quds Day rally, organized by the Al-Quds Committee in collaboration with the Palestinian Youth Movement, took place in Toronto on March 14, 2026.

Video clips online captured segments of the song “Khaybar, Khaybar, O Zion [the Jewish people]” played during the rally (originally in Persian):

[Lyrics-1]

Tell the oppressor, tell the disbeliever: Haydar!

Come to the battlefield of Khaybar, Haydar!

[Lyrics-2]

Khaybar, Khaybar, O Zion!

The army of Muhammad is coming!

Curse upon this apathetic world!

Curse upon this cowardice, cowardice!

Today you take pleasure in your own tyranny,

Tomorrow, like your ancestors, you will be destroyed!

We are from the generation that defeated Ahriman (evil)

Khaybar, Khaybar, O Zion – Lyrics (originally in Persian)

O comrade, O comrade, rise up and raise the banner!

O awakened eye and heart, step onto the summit!

Day and night on your lips: Ya Haydar al-Karrar!

The greatest victory has arrived, O Haydar once more!

Tell the oppressor, tell the disbeliever: Haydar!

Come to the battlefield of Khaybar, Haydar!

We are from the generation that defeated Ahriman (evil),

When have we ever feared the enemy?

Here, the tears of a child are victorious!

Here, blood triumphs over missiles! I am a soldier, and my role model is my commander, Haj Qasem!

The one who said: “I alone

Will become the adversary of the oppressor!” I am your opponent, I am your opponent!

I, from the people of Iran, am your opponent!

I, from Hezbollah of Lebanon, am your opponent!

The Battle of Khaybar (in 628 CE / 7 AH) was a Muslim military campaign led by Muhammad against the fortified Jewish communities in the Khaybar oasis north of Medina, resulting in a Muslim victory after sieges of its strongholds, the death of key Jewish leaders, and the surrender of the Jews who agreed to pay tribute (half their produce or jizya) in exchange for protection and remaining on their lands. Its historical significance lies in marking the decisive elimination of the last major Jewish stronghold in the Arabian Peninsula.

Haydar, which means “the lion,” is a nickname for Ali ibn Abi Talib. He was the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad, the fourth Rashidun Caliph, and the first Shia Imam. Ali ibn Abi Talib played a crucial and decisive role in the Conquest of Khaybar, also known as the Battle of Khaybar, which took place in 628 CE. During this battle, Muhammad’s Muslim army defeated and subsequently either slaughtered or exiled the Jewish tribes of the Arabian Peninsula.
