On March 3, 2026, York Entrepreneurship Development Institute (YEDI) reported on LinkedIn:
Overnight, the YEDI building was the target of gunfire. This was more than damage to our building. It affected a community brought together by education, collaboration, and entrepreneurship.
In an interview with PerspectivesTV published on March 5, 2026, Dr. Marat Ressin, President of YEDI and a board member of the Canadian Zionist Federation, stated:
At 2 a.m., two guys came. One was shooting. He shot 27 bullets in different windows and doors of our building. And the second one was recording it on video, most probably to report to somebody. So the one who shot here affected almost all the doors and windows on the first floor. And then the bullets came through the walls and, of course, affected the equipment that we have in the educational auditorium and other equipment…
I spoke with the police investigator and she said that it’s very hard for them to investigate this type of case because it’s obvious even for them that somebody paid from Middle East to somebody here. That person hired two guys who have no connection to that. She said there’s a standard price in the market for that. See how this sounds? Extended price of $1,000. Somebody may go get the gun, $1,000, do this and then return the gun. And you can order it online. So easy now. The police lady told the truth. So what police can do, they can find those who were shot. But what about those who ordered it? What about those who sent the money? It’s only RCMP. So if our RCMP will say it’s a terror attack, then they will be responsible for that. If not, then it will be in the hands of police and it will bring to nothing, I guess.
