On May 29, 2021 hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters gathered in Montreal in support of the Palestinian struggle against Israel following the war between Israel and a Gaza-based coalition of Palestinian terrorist organizations led by Hamas and the Islamic Jihad.

During the rally, the song “Upon Call You’ll Find Us [Ready to Act]” was broadcast over the PA system. The song was composed by Al-Wafa’ band, a Gaza-based group composed of operatives of Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas that is designated by Canada as a terrorist entity. One of them, Musab Hashlamon was convicted of planning a suicide bombing attack in Beersheba in which 16 Israelis were murdered. All three served jail time in Israel for terrorist activity and released by Israel in 2012 as part of a prisoner swap.

Here are excerpts from the song:

Upon call you’ll find us [ready to act]

We will go into battle [fire]

When the precious [Islamic site, Al-Aqsa Mosque] calls upon us

Ululate! Oh bullets of the rebels

And expel the occupier

Get angry! Oh heroic people. Go to Al-Aqsa [Mosque] and stay there

We’ll declare a state of alert [readiness/mobilization] from Rafah to Jenin

I came to you from all directions with the determination of the [Palestinian] heroes

We don’t have airplanes but our tribe constitutes of men

Gatekeepers, men and women, are deployed on the gates of the precious Al-Aqsa [Mosque]
We sleep and wake up in the yards [of Al-Aqsa Mosque]
And we confront the [Jewish] settlers…

Walk tall in Al-Aqsa [Mosque], walk tall

Roar in the face of the [Jewish] settler

If he [Jewish settler] thinks about walking leisurely into the yards [of Al-Aqsa Mosque]

Surprise him with the sharp sword

Strike [him], strike [him], strike [him], strike [him]

Do not allow him to approach the Al-Aqsa [Mosque]

Let him run away, run away, run away
Or take off on the first airport…

Fight back, fight back, fight back, fight back

We’ll execute the prescribed [death] penalty on the occupier…

Whether during the day or at night

Go to Al-Aqsa [Mosque], go

I left my children asleep

We are tired of living in [our] homes

Go with the Quran and the knife

I will die as a martyr in the path of Allah while fighting

The [Palestinian] guerrilla [martyrdom] organizations say: We will die for Palestine to live…
