Robert Thorpe is a member of the Green Party and a supporter of Dimitri Lascaris in the upcoming Green Leadership in his bid for the leadership of the party. A former member of the New Democratic Party (NDP) Robert Thorpe is a Toronto-based left-wing political activist who attends the annual Al-Quds Day Rally and promotes the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) campaign against Israel.
On August 27, 2019 Robert Thorpe posted on Facebook:
F[uck] Israel, and F[uck] their enablers in Western Governments: US, Canada, Australia, Britain, France, Germany. Day by day, the need for the people of the world to rise up against the oppression of Israel of not only the Palestinian people, but increasingly of members of “democracies” in the West whom Israel attempt to oppress as if they too were occupied. BOYCOTT, DIVEST AND SANCTION ISRAEL. REFUSE TO VOTE FOR ZIONIST POLITICIANS ANYWHERE. ISRAEL IS A ROGUE, FASCIST, APARTHEID ANTI-DEMOCRATIC REGIME THAT MUST BE PUT IN ITS PLACE BY THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE and despite the complicity of the politicians they control.
