Canadian Defenders For Human Rights (CD4HR) is a pro Palestinian Canadian registered non for profit organization (NO.1067715-9). Its Co-Managers are Aliya Hasan (Aliyawa Jamal Hasan) and Firas Al Najim.
On May 4, 2021 Firas Al Najim posted a short video clip featuring himself and an unidentified young man with their first two fingers pointing up in a V-shape as a gesture of victory. Holding a model of the Dome of the Rock mosque in other hand, the unidentified person says (originally in Arabic):
I love Palestine and if Allah wills it I [will become] a martyr in Palestine.
Note: In this context the “martyr” may refer to a Muslim who died or killed in a struggle for the cause of Allah.

Behind them is a red flag that reads “Oh Hussein” [Ya Hussain]. Yā Hussain (Arabic: يا حسين) is an Arabic phrase used by Shia Muslims to invoke the memory or intervention of Hussain ibn Ali. It is especially used in the context of the Mourning of Muharram.
