On March 7, 2026, hundreds gathered in front of the American Consulate in Toronto to participate in a protest organized under the banners of “Support Iran” and “No to Unjust War.” This demonstration was in response to the American-Israeli military campaign against the Islamic regime’s military nuclear project in Iran, as well as its perceived military threat to the region.
The protest was organized by the Muslim Community of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and received endorsements from the Iranian Canadian Congress, Al-Quds Toronto, and the Palestinian Youth Movement.
Zafar Bangash, the Director of the Institute of Contemporary Islamic Thought (ICIT) and a member of the Editorial Board of Crescent International, delivered the following speech at the event:
Our hearts are broken because a great leader of the Muslim world was martyred in such a cowardly manner. He could have gone into a bunker or to some safe place.
But when his advisors and security detail told him that he should not out of this compound because it is not secure, he said to them, if you can provide bunkers for the 90 million people of Iran, then I will move away from here. Otherwise, I will stay with the people of Iran because they are my children.
So, he not only sacrificed his own life, but that of his family, his wife, his daughter, his daughter-in-law, his son-in-law, his grandchildren, a 14-year-old baby, Zahra Mohammadi [Golpayegani] was also martyred in this terrorist attack by these two terrorists in Washington, DC [U.S. President Donald Trump] and in Tel Aviv [Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu].
Let me tell you something. These cowards, this Netanyahu, the terrorist that indicted a war criminal, a fugitive from justice, spends every night in a bunker like a rat. And that sex predator and convicted felon Donald Trump is such a chicken that when somebody lets off with a firecracker, he spoils the diaper.
These are the cowards that you are dealing with. And Trump says he’s going to send American forces to Iran. Iran has sent your welcome to come. We welcome you to come to Iran. I also suggest that you bring some Israelis soldiers as well, so that they can find out what the people of Iran are made up of.
You know, brothers and sisters, they thought that by assassinating the leader of Iran that this would all be over. The very first day, Trump said I’m prepared for a ceasefire. And the answer from Iran was immediately, go to hell. And five times since then, the Americans have been begging for negotiations with Iran and Iran has said, no deal no negotiations, now we are going to teach you a lesson.
Brothers and sisters, more than 550 American soldiers have been sent to hell for the sake of the Zionist entity. Every American base in the Middle East, whether in Qatar, in Bahrain, in Abu Dhabi, in Jordan, in Saudi Arabia has been obliterated. Trillions of dollars of their investment have gone up in smoke.
Tel Aviv today is beginning to resemble like Gaza. And the Zionist entity has said anybody who publishes photos of the destruction of Tel Aviv or send any videos, they will be sent to prison for five years. If they are so strong, if they are so smart, why don’t they let the truth come out?
And these Arab regimes, these despicable tyrants ruling the Arab regimes, they begged America to send them more interceptor missiles, and America said, we don’t have any. These people that gave their nation, that gave their land, and then, when the American soldiers, the so-called grave soldiers, fled from their bases, they took refuge in hotels.
Iran’s intelligence knew exactly where these terrorists are hiding. The Crown Plaza Hotel in Manama in Bahrain. The Palm Beach, Jumeirah. Burj Al Arab. Hyatt Regency in Riyadh. They were all targeted precisely on the floors where American soldiers were hiding, and they were all sent to hell.
Brothers and sisters, we as Canadians, demand of our government to take a clear stand on this issue. Are they for international law or are they with these war criminals?
[Canada’s Prime Minister] Mark Carney, when he was speaking in Davos in January, he talked about international law, respect for people’s country’s sovereignty and independence. And yet, now he will not even say whether Canada would send its troops to fight against Iran or not.
We say, shame on Carney for his hypocrisy. The vast majority of Canadians do not want Canadian troops to be sent to fight Israel’s dirty war against Iran. The vast majority of Americans do not support this war on Iran.
Even CNN recently admitted that the vast majority of Americans are concerned about food prices, fuel prices, and housing. They don’t want to be involved in another illegal war.
Brothers and sisters, you will see that the price of oil is going to shoot up already in the last three or four days, prices at the gas stop have gone up by more than 40 cents. And this is going to keep going. The economies of America, Canada and Western Europe are going to go down with you.
They talk about a new Middle East. Let me tell you. The new Middle East would be without American forces, and the Zionist entity would be sent to hell. There will be no mercy for these terrorists.
And I’d like to conclude with this. Trump said that he wants Iran to surrender unconditionally. There is an invitation to Donald Trump. Please come to Tehran. Millions of Iranians would welcome you in Azadi Square and there will be a huge crane with a very strong cable on which they are going to string you and hang you till the life has been stretched out of you.
Trump, if you are a man, I don’t think you are, you’re a bloody criminal, bring that Zionist war criminal, Netanyahu, with you. You will both be strung over there.
Brothers and sisters, I see a new Middle East, but that Middle East will not be in the shape of America or the Zionist entity. That Middle East will be free of these war criminals, including these Arab pirates. So that time is coming. And inshallah, Muslims will succeed.
Thank you. May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be with you.
