Toronto resident Robert Thorpe, is a member of the New Democratic Party (NDP) and a left wing political activist who supports the annual Al-Quds day rally and the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) campaign against Israel.
On June 5, 2018 Robert Thorpe posted on his Facebook page a meme equating Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, the Chancellor of Nazi Germany (1933-1945). The meme reads: “War criminals, past [picture of Adolf Hitler], present [picture of Benjamin Netanyahu].”
