Nazih Khatatba is a General Director at Meshwar Media and the publisher and editor of Mississauga-based Meshwar magazine.
In an editorial on Meshwar (Issue 316, September 2, 2022, p. 4) titled “Anti-Semitism is the sacred cow that Zionist organizations in Canada use as a shield to confront activists in solidarity with Palestine,” Nazih Khatatba wrote:
Zionist lobby organizations have been trying for years to use the working definition of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) and antisemitism to impose it by force in Canadian and Western societies so that it becomes legislation and a sword hanging over the necks of activists opposing the Israeli occupation. It is clear that opposing the apartheid state allied with the West and spearheading its colonial project is infuriating from their perspective. Therefore, it is required to strengthen the front of opponents to this definition [of antisemitism] and the occupation policy. And to put pressure on the federal government and the provinces not to adopt the Zionist lobby’s positions and to protect the activists under attack.
