You thought Canada’s M-103 Federal Blasphemy laws were bad?! Here comes another attack on our dwindling freedom of speech in Canada… Ontario’s so-called “conservative” Government has unanimously passed the second reading of Bill 168, which seeks to ban all criticism of individual Jews and Israel. Bill 168 seeks to officially define antisemitism in Ontario with the ‘International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’ definition. How does the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance label anti semitism?
-Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.
-Accusing Jews as a people of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews.
