On may 22, 2021 hundreds of pro-Palestinian supporters joined the “Ongoing Nakba, Ongoing Resistance – Toronto March!” organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM – حركة الشباب الفلسطيني).
Mohamed Alqasem (aka Moe Alqasem), who led alongside others the rally, is a Biomedical science student at York University in Toronto, and an activist from Students Against Israeli Apartheid (SAIA York), a member of the YUdivest coalition and a community organizer in the Palestinian and Arab community. He is also a member of the Palestinian Youth Movement, the Association of Progressive Palestinian Canadians, and OPIRG YorkU.

What is happening in Palestine?
- Palestinians in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah are being violently expelled from their homes by Zionist settlers
- This is part of Israel’s plan to dispossess Palestinians from their and and ethnically cleanse Jerusalem. Sheikh Jarrah Is evidence of the Ongoing Nakba- the Ethnic Cleansing of Palestinians by the settler-colonial state.
- For several weeks, Zionist forces and settlers have been brutally assaulting Palestinians. Including women and elders, raiding homes, and arresting Palestinian youth defending the homes of Palestinian families.
- Israeli soldiers have been attacking Palestinian worshipers and restricting access to the Al Aqsa Mosque and various churches in Jerusalem.
- Israeli settlers have been going to Palestinian neighborhoods in the West Bank and lynching Palestinians In the streets.
- Israel has been mercilessly bombing the residents of Gaza, killing over 250 civilians Including 64 children.
- Palestinians from Gaza to Al Aqsa to Sheikh Jarrah to Occupied Palestine have been mobilizing to resist Zionist colonization and violence.
