It is disappointing, yet unsurprising to see Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland stand with the Israeli apartheid regime every time it bombs Gaza. As Canadians, we refuse to be associated with such values and call on the Canadian government to condemn Israel’s never-ending violations of Palestinian human rights. According to Gaza’s ministry of health, death toll has risen to 25, which includes three women, two unborn babies and two infants. But still, not a word of condemnation from the Canadian government.
On May 5, 2019 Foreign Policy CAN [Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Chrystia Freeland] issued the following statement:
Canada condemns the barrage of rocket attacks from #Gaza into #Israel by Hamas and other terrorist groups, which have killed and injured civilians. This indiscriminate targeting of civilians is not acceptable. We call for an immediate end to this violence.
Firas Al Najim [Hussaini Al Najim], a Co-Manager of Cadian Defenders For Human Rights (CD4HR), commented on SAIA York’s post:
SHAME ON Justin Trudeau Chrystia Freeland Government for being submissive to the Zionist lobbies in #Canada to earn some votes, they sold out the blood of oppressed and human rights for votes! We will not remain silent we will be louder and clearer about our objection!
Firas Al Najim also posted a short video message featuring himself holding a stuffed snake head:
