On August 20, 2019 the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) issued a statement on “glorifying terrorism” by a Canadian newspaper.

Here are excerpts from the statement:

Meshwar Media is an Arab language newspaper published in Canada… In the August 2019 edition, in a poem entitled Our Children are Men!, Dr Abdulqader Faris of Hamilton appears to be encouraging children to stab Israelis. The relevant stanza is below…

Or my knife

From my pocket I take out

With it I stab the occupier

The coward ran away

And hid behind the hill

I don’t care for your bullets

Or your gas bombs

My weapons are onions and vinegar
