Khaled Barakat, a Canadian national based in Berlin, is a member of the political bureau of the Palestinian Front for the Liberalization of Palestine (PFLP), that in 2003 was designated by Canada as a terrorist organization.
According to No One Is Illegal, “Khaled Barakat was a founder of the No One Is Illegal network and movement in Vancouver”, “a member of No One Is Illegal” and “an active leader in social movements in Vancouver and across Canada.”
Affiliated also with Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network, Barakat participated in 2013 in an anti-Israel protest alongside members of Canada Palestine Association (Hanna Kawas), Independent Jewish Voices (Martha Roth), Gaza’s Ark (Nino Pagliccia) and Boycott Israeli Apartheid Campaign (Charlotte Kates, Barakat’s wife).
On December 18, 2017 Khaled Barakat posted a meme featuring a faded Israeli flag, Palestinian hand brandishing a combat rifle and a statement (originally in Arabic): “I swear to Allah, we will erase it [Israel].”
